MEASURE, PREPARE & LAY YOUR EASI LAWN

Installing Easi Lawn is simple. You can do it yourself or have one of our preferred landscapers do it for you.

Measure your lawn area

Measure your lawn area and sketch it onto graph paper.
It is then easy to estimate your requirements using the following formulas.

Square or Rectangle

Multiply the width (W) by the height (H).
eg 10m x 5.5 m = 55 square metres

Circle

Multiply the radius by itself then by 3.14.
eg 4 x 4 x 3.14 = 51 square metres

Triangle
Multiply the height (H) by the base width (B) and divide by 2.
eg 10m x 8m / 2 = 40 square metres

Easi Lawn is generally supplied in 1 metre square rolls (2.5 metres long, 400mm wide and approximately 20mm thick). Warm season varieties may be provided in slabs (1.25 metres long, 400mm wide and approximately 20mm thick).

Site Preparation

We recommend you complete the following preparation prior to delivery:

  • Rotary hoe or spread top soil to a depth of 100-150mm
  • Remove stones and lumps of organic matter.
  • Level to pathways and rake an even surface. (25mm below paths for Sir Walter).
  • Spread lawn starter fertiliser at 5kg per 100 square metres (add lime if your soil is acidic)
  • Lightly roll or water the area into a firm surface

Now you are ready to have your Easi Lawn delivered.

Laying your Easi Lawn

The fun starts as you lay your Easi Lawn and see your lawn taking shape.

  • Lightly water prepared area
  • Roll out your Easi Lawn in a brick work pattern
  • Push individual strips together firmly - do not stretch the Easi Lawn
  • Cut turf with a sharp knife around plants and paths
  • Water immediately to saturate the grass mat and wet underneath soil
(Top dress Sir Walter with 10mm of washed river sand (approx 1m3 to 100m2). Rolling turf at this stage will also help to achieve maximum soil contact.)

Now your Easi Lawn is ready to enjoy.

We recommend your new lawn is laid on the day of delivery.   Water immediately

Establishing your Easi Lawn

  • Watering - Water your Easi Lawn during installation and then up to 4 times a day for the first 2 weeks. Gradually reduce frequency as the roots establish
  • Mowing – First mowing at 2-3 weeks after laying with mower on the highest setting
  • Fertilising – Fertilise 4 weeks after laying with a complete lawn food (22:5:8 or similar) at 3-4 kg per 100 square metres
